Fifth Sunday Letter-Writing, August 30

Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Arizona, Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest, Global Refuge, and the ELCA Witness and Society program all urge advocacy on behalf of thousands of vetted refugees stranded abroad, as well as those vetted evacuees and refugees living in the U.S. who are under threat. A draft letter for signing on August 30 can be viewed here, to be sent to Senators Gallego and Kelly and to Representatives Schweikert and Ciscomani (LD 6 - because his Appropriations assignments include Homeland Security and the State Department, which fund refugee processing, admissions and resettlement). As always, you may choose to write your own message(s) at any time.
