Welcome, Pastor Tim Hansen – Our New Interim Pastor
We are filled with joy and gratitude as we welcome Pastor Tim Hansen to New Journey Lutheran Church as our interim pastor, beginning November 1. His presence is a true gift during this time of transition, and we are excited to walk alongside him in faith and fellowship.
Pastor Tim retired last year after a long and faithful ministry in the ELCA. He was ordained in 1987 and served congregations in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Sun Prairie, WI, but have been visiting Fountain Hills for over 40 years during the winter months. Many of us may already recognize their warm smiles from past worship services, and some may remember Lisa’s parents, Darwin and Bev Anthony, who were beloved members of our congregation during their winters here.
Lisa recently retired as well, after a meaningful career as a Registered Dietitian and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Together, Pastor Tim and Lisa have three grown children:
Kai, his wife Kathryn, and their son Augie live in Half Moon Bay, CA.
Karin and her husband Mubzy live in Milwaukee, WI, and are expecting a new little one this winter!
Anders and his wife Hoda live in Washington, D.C., and often visit Fountain Hills when Pastor Tim and Lisa are in town.
Pastor Tim brings not only pastoral wisdom but also a joyful and creative spirit. He enjoys golfing, reading, hiking, camping, and making music. His band has recorded seven albums, with all proceeds supporting ministries such as ELCA World Hunger, The International Center for Bethlehem, and Lutheran World Relief—a beautiful reflection of his heart for service and justice.
We are so thankful for Pastor Tim’s willingness to serve this winter and look forward to getting to know him beyond Sunday morning greetings. His love for ministry and connection shines through, and we are blessed to have him with us.
Please join us in giving Pastor Tim and Lisa a heartfelt New Journey welcome. We are so glad you’re here!
