Office Hours: An Experiment in Being Present

Although I serve as your Interim Pastor in a part-time role, I want to be present and available to you.

In addition to being with you on Sundays, I plan to be at the church on most Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on selected Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Because these hours may occasionally change due to meetings, visits, or other pastoral responsibilities, it is best to contact me before making a special trip to the church.

When pastoral visitation is needed, I will make every effort to be present. I am also available to meet virtually with individuals or groups when that is more convenient.

We will try this schedule, learn from the experience, and adjust it as needed.

I live in Sun City and can usually be at the church within 45–80 minutes, depending on traffic. For a pastoral emergency, please call or text me directly.

Time Away

Before beginning my covenant with New Journey as your Interim Pastor, I made plans to visit members of my family.

I will be away from Thursday, September 3, through Tuesday morning, September 8, visiting my son and his family in Texas. We will be well served by Pastor Wanda Frenchman, who will be our supply preacher on Sunday, September 6.

I will also make a brief visit to my other son and his family in Oklahoma from Tuesday, September 22, through Thursday, September 24. That week, I will hold office hours on Monday, September 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

I appreciate the opportunity to spend this time with my family and your understanding of these adjustments to my schedule.
