2026 Stewardship Appeal
Dear New Journey Friends and Family,
1 Peter 4:10 reminds us: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
With grateful hearts, we recognize the many gifts given to us and through us. God is guiding us together on this journey, and at New Journey, we continue to faithfully use our time, talent, and treasure in service to others. Let us reflect on how we’ve done so over the past year:
Crafted and provided 54 quilts and 11 baby blankets to Native American Connections and Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest
Gathered 375 neighbors and friends to pack and distribute 17,803 meals in partnership with Food for Kidz in February
Supplied school materials to Imagine School in East Mesa
Expanded our summer Heat Respite lunch pack across the five Northeast Valley Consortium (NEVC) congregations, distributing 3,200 lunches, 6 large water pallets, electrolyte powder, toiletries, cooling cloths, socks, and underwear to vulnerable neighbors during the extreme heat season
Provided food and support to the Extended Hands Food Bank
As we prepare to call a new pastor and approach the end of our building lease, we trust God to satisfy our needs and guide us forward. We ask that you prayerfully, intentionally, and gratefully respond to the overwhelming abundance of God in your life, so that we may continue living into the mission God has given us.
If you are currently giving—thank you—and please consider increasing your commitment. If you have not yet pledged, we invite you to do so to help us plan faithfully. You may complete a financial commitment card on our secure website, or return it in worship or by mail on or before November 14.
A gift to New Journey Lutheran Church is a testament to your gratitude to God, who is continually guiding us into God’s vision for a more just, loving and trustworthy world.
In Christian love and faithfulness,
The Stewardship Team – Helga Essert, Lou Hutchinson, Denny Rubenow, and Marylou Steeden
