Pastor Tim Hansen (He/him)

We are thrilled to welcome Pastor Tim Hansen as our interim pastor at New Journey Lutheran Church! Pastor Tim began serving with us on November 1, 2025, bringing decades of experience, a joyful spirit, and a deep love for ministry.

Ordained in 1987, Pastor Tim faithfully served congregations in Wisconsin and Minnesota before retiring last year. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Sun Prairie, WI, but have spent over 40 winters in Fountain Hills, making them familiar faces to many in our community. Lisa recently retired after a meaningful career as a Registered Dietitian and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Together, Pastor Tim and Lisa have three grown children:

• Kai, his wife Kathryn, and their son Augie (Half Moon Bay, CA)

• Karin and her husband Mubzy (Milwaukee, WI), expecting a new little one this winter

• Anders and his wife Hoda (Washington, D.C.)

Pastor Tim enjoys golfing, hiking, camping, reading, and making music. His band has recorded seven albums, with proceeds supporting ministries such as ELCA World Hunger, The International Center for Bethlehem, and Lutheran World Relief—a beautiful reflection of his heart for service and justice.
