NEVC Feast of the Ascension Celebration

On May 29, New Covenant Lutheran Church hosted the inaugural consortial Feast of the Ascension celebration, attended by two dozen-plus friends from Ascension, Christ the Lord, New Journey and New Covenent congregations. Based in the closing of Luke’s Gospel where we read of Jesus’ ascension to heaven, the relationship-building discussions focused on: What are you waiting for? What have been memorable “hello” and “good-bye” moments in your lives? The service was co-led by Pr. Steve Kruse, NC; Pr. Beth Gallen, NJ; and Pr. Anna Rieke, CtL. Alex Duarte, New Covenant’s youth director led the music, accompanied by Patty Kruse. In Pastor Steve’s tradition of an ice cream social component to close the New Covenant preschool year, participants were treated to ice cream and plentiful toppings following the service.
