Celebrating a Historic Year of Ordinations in the Grand Canyon Synod

Thanks to the faithful mission support of congregations like New Journey Lutheran Church, the Grand Canyon Synod is celebrating a record-breaking milestone: six ordinations in 2025, with a seventh scheduled for December—the most in our synod’s history! For the first time, we’ve also welcomed two deacons into Word and Service Ministry.

Your generosity makes this possible. It empowers leaders, sustains ministries, and multiplies opportunities for God’s call to be heard. One inspiring example is Pastor Solomon Kuch, recently ordained after years of serving Emmanuel Sudanese Lutheran Fellowship in Glendale while working night shifts, raising six children, and completing seminary. His story is a powerful witness to what happens when courage, community, and support come together.

Thank you, New Journey, for being church together and helping raise up leaders for God’s mission!
