ELCA Program Director for Economic Policy, Andrew Fuller, wrote on Monday, 3/30/26: “Thank you so much . . . I will be sure to drop these [letters] off in person. I'm on the Senate side tomorrow and the House side Wednesday, and will bring them along with me. I really appreciate [New Journey’s] advocacy work.”
You can write your own letter electronically by going to www.bread.org and clicking the “Write Now” link on their home page (you can edit the text provided there).
You can also write a thank you note there, just scroll down a little on the main page, to express appreciation for Congress’s positive response to Bread’s advocacy for the Fiscal Year 2026 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations bill (SFOPS). While $40 billion was cut by H.R.1, $20 billion was returned by the SFOPS bill for nutritious food, lifesaving medicine, and robust global health programs to people around the world.
