A Little Pruning Goes a Long Way
Recently, Denny and Gwen Rubenow tackled the church landscaping, trimming back overgrown bushes, removing dead plants, and giving the area a much-needed cleanup. A big thank-you also goes to our next-door neighbors at Valvoline for generously allowing us to fill up half of their huge dumpster—true neighborly love in action!
If the landscape looks a little… stubby right now, don’t worry. Landscaping in Arizona is a lot like getting a haircut: it might look shockingly short at first, but give it a little time and it will blossom beautifully as spring arrives. In our desert climate, periodic trimming is actually healthier for plants, especially before they creep into walkways or become too woody to recover.
So while things may look freshly buzzed at the moment, rest assured—this cleanup sets the stage for healthier growth, safer walkways, and a greener, more welcoming church grounds in the months ahead.
Thank you, Denny and Gwen, for lending your time and energy to keep our entrance looking its best!
