40-40-40 Lenten Challenge Raised $30,000 for NELM

The Grand Canyon Synod congregations achieved a “three-peat win” in the friendly participation challenge across the five synods of ELCA Region 2. More importantly, the 40-40-40 challenge raised $30,564 for water projects at the Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission (NELM.org) at Rock Point, AZ through Lutheran Disaster Response. An additional $25,961 was given through the Region 2 Lenten Challenge to various ministries including designations for world hunger; disasters such as US wildfires, hurricane response, crisis in the Middle East; and “where needed most.” Lutheran Disaster Response is committed to seeing the NELM water projects to completion.
